Terrific Tuesday Fashion

My daughter titled this blog so here we go with some terrific Tuesday fashion!!

Today was a crazy, crazy day. Since J, my husband works such long hours and gets home at 2 or 3am, he is obviously exhausted so when the kids have to wake up at 5 or 5:30am to shower and get ready for the bus ride to school (which is almost 2 hours) sometimes they don’t make it (well, rarely, but they are late sometimes) . This morning I received a text saying they missed the bus. This usually means that I race home safely (me being in an extreme hurry while obeying speed limits which is the most frustrating thing to do) so that I can find everyone still sleeping, lol. I then get the kids ready and we are even later getting to school, but at least we make it! So today, we ended up not being able to take the kids and they were excused because it was a movie day anyway having had Benchmark testing all week last week and a couple of days off.

Anyway, today was such a lazy day. I threw on a pair of maternity pants that I found in the unfolded laundry (after running them through the hot dryer to iron them), and realized I hadn’t even worn them yet! Now they are my favorite pair (even though I still HATE the full panel belly). I didn’t even do my hair or makeup, and we all scurried out of the house to do some shipping and get lunch before J had to go into work.

I enjoyed this outfit as it was light and comfortable, but still had a bit of a dressy look to it even with jeans! It has been super cold in the mornings here (SWFL), but today it was rather warm, and just refreshing!!!!

ENJOY! Be sure to check out the links at the bottom to see how I get these prices!!!

Um, yes, I was photo bombed by a pooping Pomeranian!

This top is a 100% polyester fabric blouse so it is a dressier type fabric. I could have dressed it up with a black skirt or black slacks, but none of what I have fits at the moment, haha. When it came in I wondered how it would fit since there is no stretch to it, but as a M, it worked out great!!! Certain brands run larger than others so this was a plus with it NOT being a maternity top.

Another outfit under $15!! I have absolutely no shame, and especially since some of these pieces will only be worn during my pregnancy! I would hate to spend hundreds to not be able to wear them later or if I did look like I am obviously wearing old maternity clothes. I hope you take advantage of these savings like I have because it has saved our family thousands that we were able to put toward other things for a better future. 🙂 🙂 🙂

Maternity Fashion 2

I have been so lazy when it comes to dressing up to leave the house during this pregnancy. I have received some really cute things that I just can’t wait to share with you, yet I really don’t leave the house except for my side job which is at 4am!!

Today, everyone got ready just to do a quick library and post office errand so we were extremely casual. Well, we all also forgot that today is a holiday, MLK day!!! We stopped to tour some apartment complexes while we were out so it wasn’t a complete waste of gas, and then I had my lovely daughter snap a few photos of a super casual outfit to show you before going inside. Ummm, you can’t see it, but it was freezing today in SWFL! Brrr.

Here you go! Please excuse my exhausted, no make up looking face. It was a very lazy day.

I am about 30 weeks here so time is almost up. Woooow!

This is Zoey, our Parti Pom!

I absolutely love pink. For a long time I’d say I didn’t because of the typical stereotypes on girls, but I love it. I do. This dress was even better in person when I got it and gosh, I was so excited about this piece!

It is extremely comfortable made with a soft and stretch cotton blend which is perfect for before, during and after pregnancy. It is a size M and I am surprised at how some of the mediums that came in seem a bit larger than I remember. I am hoping that I can pull it off after the fact!

I received this dress from Schoola, a site that I previously blogged about. The sweater and the flats have also been featured on previous blogs, but I will list the info again at the bottom.

The best part about this dress………is the fact that I got it for free. Yup, free. It is an Old Navy dress and was NWOT (new without tags) so wow, what a deal!

Here is the blog link that explains HOW!!!!

In the order that this dress was included in, this is what I got :). When you visit these sites, you are going to love it!

I will show these other pieces later when I am not being lazy, HAHA.

Maternity Fashion

Now that we have finally announced our new addition (baby #3), I can post some blogs about maternity fashion!! YAY! Of course, they will be of the bargains I have found because if you’re like me, you definitely don’t want to spend a fortune on something you will only use for a very short amount of time.

For my first two kids, I didn’t buy one piece of “maternity clothing”, but that was mainly because I didn’t have to. A lot of my pants were already too big because I was so small and many stretched. The tops were easy as long as they were loose. This pregnancy is giving me a harder time as with each child, I go up in a size and add 5 pounds, lol.

My first child I wore a size 3 or 5 in juniors (110 pounds). My second child I wore a size 5 juniors or 2-4 in womens (115 pounds). For this third one, I have remained at a size 4 (a 2 during my fitness journey which I had to put off for a while. 120 pounds). I am now around 130 pounds, but will go back down when I continue my fitness journey in April. A six is still too big and baggy in certain areas, and some 4s are too tight around the chest area (dresses) so I have had to start looking at dresses that could pass as maternity or get actual maternity pieces such as pants and tunics.

This is the first time I have ever worn those crazy pants with that big ‘ol panel at the top and let me tell you how its just weird to me!! I still wear some of my regular jeans and do that fancy hair tie trick, but I figured since I am only 5 months, that just isn’t going to work for 4 more months this time. Bummer.

I was about 18 weeks here maybe. 12.14.15. I don’t keep up.

Here is a fabulous find that I snatched up a few weeks before Christmas at JC Penneys! Nope, not Goodwill (but cheaper than Goodwill!!) ;). I could hardly believe how it happened too. Let us know about your lucky finds!!

This dress is great because it is extremely soft and stretchy, but has a silky cotton feel. I didn’t even try it on in the store and it is NOT a “maternity dress”. The color is more of a turquoise which catches my attention every time anyway. The belt is my daughters from one of her old dresses, lol.

So, this simple dress can be dressed up or down and is one of my favorite finds. Here is why.

I was with the family at the mall looking for another pink shirt for our photo shoot the next day. Yup, always the last minute on things. It makes it such an adventure, lol. We got the one we had seen a while back for J, my husband and headed upstairs to the kids section to find a pink shirt for DuGrei, my son (no pink for boys here- crazy). The lines were super long so we headed to lingerie where there was no wait. While standing there waiting on the cashier, I saw a dress hanging on the front of the rack of some mens clothing (right next to us in line). It had a pink sticker tag of 14.99 which meant clearance. I said to J, “I’m going to hold onto this and check to see if it is any lower. Just in case, ya know.” He rolled his eyes because I always do stuff like that (saying just in case and sometimes get it anyway).

So, we get to the register after one other lady we let go in front of us is finished and I ask the cashier about the dress after she scans J’s shirt. She says, “Yes, it is only 3.95 (ish).” I said, “Come again.” She verified the new clearance price and I must have started glowing as I looked at J with begging eyes for approval. He said it was fine (who wouldn’t snatch that deal up when you have a giant, growing belly?!). So, then the cashier says, “You know, if you spend $25 you get $10 off. What!! I was only another 3 dollars short! I scurried through the upstairs looking for something small I could grab (hoping to see a Godiva stand, but forgetting I was not in Macys). I ran across a candle holder display and found some Sugar Strawberry scented wax blocks I could use in our candle warmer. They were regularly 7.50 and on sale for 3.50 (ish). We went back through line and finished up. I mean. Wow.

The dress shirt for my hubby was 19.99 so basically I got the dress and wax for free!!! I was so happy!!

Remember that during pregnancy (as experienced moms will already know) everything widens. It may only seem like the belly, but the chest gets bigger too so those zippered dresses and many empire waist dresses that seem like they would work will be too tight up there. This dress does not have any zippers or buttons and has a very giving elastic empire waist (some that have elastic are still too tight depending on the fabric). Since this fabric is like a silky cotton and very stretchy anyway, it was perfect!!!

I added the little belt that came on one of Alexis’ dresses just so it wouldn’t be extremely plain. I wore my strappy, leopard suede sandals to give a nice FL summer look and threw an American Eagle slouch bag on my shoulder. Voila! Pregnant in style (well, my style at least, haha).

Note: This dress is a PS (petite small)!

Dress: St. Johns Bay- JC Penney- 3.95 (final clearance)

Slouch bag: American Eagle- Goodwill- 3.99 (like new)

Sandals: Mossimo- Goodwill- 4.99 (NWOT)

Belt: Taken from one of my 11 year olds dresses that she no longer wears.
